This site measures nothing itself. It fetches publicly available measurements, computes derived figures from them and displays the result. So that it stays clear who owns what, every source is listed here individually — with its operator, its licence and the credit this site gives it.

What this site adds by itself

The most prominent numbers here appear in no source — they are computed on this site, and they are therefore not the numbers of the respective source:

CO₂ intensity from the electricity mix, weighted with emission factors. The life-cycle factors are the median values of IPCC AR5, the direct factors are common operational values. Imports are assigned a flat intensity. This is a model calculation, not a measurement, and it can differ from services that trace physical power flows.
Balancing reserve is computed from the recorded frequency via the droop characteristic. It is not measured activation data from the transmission system operators.
Grid physics (inertia, rate of change of frequency, line parameters) are textbook calculations with assumed parameters, for illustration.

These derived figures are the responsibility of this site's operator, not of the data sources. Errors in them are this site's errors.

How often the sources are polled

Every source is polled server-side on a fixed schedule and cached. The number of requests therefore does not depend on how many people look at the site — a hundred visitors do not create a hundred times the load upstream.
